When in Cambodia…

Addendum to Angkor Wat: several fellow travellers rose at 4:15 am this morning to watch the sunrise over the temple.

I took a cooking class today with 2 others of my group. It was held at the home of a chef. We were joined by a French couple, Australian sisters, and two ladies - German and Malaysian. She showed us the market where she buys certain ingredients

We each chose one item from each course. Most of the ingredients were from the chef’s backyard garden - spices and herbs, lemon grass, bananas, limes, even fish leaves that smelled like fish.

I chose the green mango salad with dry shrimp (flakes), sweet and sour fried chicken, pineapple fried rice and banana in coconut milk and tapioca. We each had our own cooking station.

I ate every last morsel. The sweet and sour chicken was nothing like the North American version.
