The Profane and the Sacred

I took an early morning walk while Jesse and Carl caught up on sleep. Our hotel is on a quiet street with 5 mom and pop restaurants. So far, I’ve seen 1 Starbucks, 1 MacDonalds. 7-11’s are everywhere. The one  beside us has 6 ATMs - all different banks. There seem to be at least 2 classy tailor shops per block. The barefoot Buddhist monk was sweating, but chilling to his music on air pods. Caught a nice sunrise over the canal which backs along the hotel. Bought a chicken kabob from the smiling sweetly street food ladies.I suggested a photo. The one on the left had originally struck a much more salacious pose and I asked her to stand straight. She was making very naughty suggestions. I told J and C that the old man still had charisma. They suggested it was baht charisma LOL!

We walked to the Thai National Museum, and tried to decide whether the Catholic Church really had too much wealth compared to the Thai king and the Buddhists.

From top to bottom: 76 monks carried the king in the sedan during processions.

Another hot one. You get 40 cm of snow, we get temps near 40!

  1. An interesting mix of locals - a Buddhist monk listening to devotional chants perhaps and street vendors with baht intentions. You’ve got rizz Jamie!
